Why We Pace This Route This Way

The full Druk Path takes eight days, which is more leave than most people have. This version walks the first two stages to Jele Dzong and Jangchulakha, camps one ridge short of the high lakes, and comes down through Phajoding to Thimphu on the fourth day. The camp crew, ponies and cook are the same ones we send on the longer treks, so the nights are proper rather than improvised, and the walking stays inside four to five hours a day.
